On February 11, 2025, the Digital Energy community, in partnership with AFD's Energy Sector Platform, organized a webinar focused on the contributions and innovations surrounding satellite data aimed at improving energy access strategies and optimizing electrical grid management in Africa.
During this event, the findings of the study "Satellite data for energy network management" were presented. Conducted jointly by Onepoint and AETS on behalf of AFD, this study marks the first thematic initiative launched in 2023 focusing specifically on innovative technologies using geospatial data to enhance operational management of energy infrastructure. It aligns closely with Digital Energy's broader work on "Efficient Network Management".
This pioneering study offers a series of practical recommendations designed to assist public and private energy operators in effectively integrating geospatial technologies into their decision-making and operational processes.
